Munson Machinery launches self-cleaning Rotary Drum Screen

Munson Machinery Company launches a new self-cleaning Rotary Drum Screen (Model 24 RDS 24), which removes solid materials from waste streams at high rates. The unit contains a rotating cylinder that is 24 inch (610 mm) in diameter by 24 inch (610 mm) long, and constructed of wedge wire screen. Effluent discharges from a head box, overflows a dam and flows onto the outside of the rotating cylinder, allowing water to pass through the wedge wire into the cylinder. A doctor blade scrapes sludge and debris collected on the outside of the cylinder, while an internal spray line dislodges particles blinding the screen.

The separator is intended for sewage, food, pulp and paper, rendering, pelletizing and other applications in which solids must be removed from slurries in high volumes.

The variable speed unit is equipped with wedge wire screen in a range of seven orifice sizes from .010 to .100 in. (.25 to 2.54 mm), offering capacities from 757 to 3520 liter/ min respectively....more

Mag Industrial introduces new Vertical Machining Center

The new hydraulic-free NBV Vertical Machining Center from Mag Industrial Automation optimizes energy use to cutting requirements. This compact VMC is flush with modular application flexibility, including configurations for 3-, 4-, and 5-axis contouring or 5-axis mill/turn work, integrated CAM support and program simulation, and four spindle options ranging up to 42,000 rpm.

In addition to its hydraulic-free design, the NBV conserves energy with a selectable ECO-Mode power saving feature that automatically levels speed and acceleration for an ideal balance of cutting performance, energy use and machine-component life. Ideal applications include die/mold, automotive and aerospace impellers and blisks, medical, and general machining.

In a footprint of just 9.6 m2 (133.5 sq ft), the fixed-table NBV 400 provides X-Y-Z ranges of 700 x 600 x 500 mm (27.6 x 23.6 x 19.7 in), with table capacity of 300 kg (661 lb) [250 kg/551 lb in mill-turn config.]. Spindle options include speeds of 10,000, 12,000 (mill-turn only), 18,000, 24,000 and 42,000 rpm, offering a torque range of 125 to 12.4 Nm (92 to 9 lb ft) at 40 percent duty. A disc-type 40-tool magazine integrated in the machine bed maximizes in-cut time with fast direct tool change (4.4 sec chip-to-chip), without a separate tool changer. The hydraulic-free system clamps tools with proven disc springs....more

ABB launches High-Performance Infrared (HPIR) Moisture Sensor

ABB introduces its new High-Performance Infrared (HPIR) Moisture Sensor for their QCS800xA Quality Control System (QCS). Intended as a replacement for the very popular HemiPlus moisture sensor, the HPIR is designed to improve the performance and reliability of both new and existing ABB QCS systems. HPIR sensor enhances performance of ABB Quality Control Systems and overall efficiency of papermaking process.

With HPIR, papermakers can have more confidence in the precision of their moisture measurement. They can achieve tighter CD control, and faster start-ups and grade changes. Papermakers can shift their moisture targets closer to acceptable quality limits, saving energy and reducing fiber costs while remaining within the paper grade’s quality specifications....more

Green Dot launches Servo Voltage Stabiliser line

Green Dot Electric introduces Servo Voltage Stabiliser line with micro controller operation and fully digital user friendly LED displays of in-volts, out-volts and load current. It also has protections against single phasing, reverse phasing, low & high voltage cut offs and overload cut offs.

The company has specially developed vertical track variable transformers with ball bearings for shafts, self adjusting & self aligning carbon systems moving on optically ground winding tracks and computerised power designs. This type achieves operation efficiencies as high as 98% even in wide ranges of say 160-480 volts 3 phase & in air cooled versions.

Special units also have been developed for use on unreliable remote rural power lines that sense the three phases & with healthy phase selection system – ensure a continued supply even in case any of the phases have heavy dips in voltages or have frequent phase slips & failures...more

New Hydraulic Excavator from Caterpillar

The new 336D L Hydraulic Excavator from Caterpillar delivers expanded versatility and high productivity in demolition applications. The Cat 336D L has more engine power and hydraulic pressure. The result is increased breakout force and greater lift force, which create faster cycle times and superior productivity.
The 336D L has a maximum operating weight of 37631 kg and net power of 268 horsepower (200 kW). The Cat C9 engine powers the 336D L and meets U.S. EPA Tier 3 emissions regulations. The engine management system provides flexible fuel mapping, allowing the engine to respond quickly to varying application needs. For reduced power consumption and reduced noise, the excavator has a hydraulically driven fan controlled by the electronic control module.
To enhance durability in demolition applications, the 336D L can be equipped with heavy-duty triple grouser tack shoes for long wear and solid traction. Track guards for the sprocket end and idler end are fitted to protect the full length of the track. Rubber bumpers attached to the sides of the excavator reduce inadvertent damage when swinging, and bottom and bearing guards protect those areas from damaging debris....more
