Lenovo's ThinkPad X201 Tablet

Ultra-portable, advanced security features

The new business notebook, ThinkPad X201 tablet, has 12.1-inch touchpad and is light and thin in design. It has highly configurable screen, which includes options for outdoor viewing, capacitive touch and pen input. The navigation is easy with a pen, finger, and keyboard. Security tools include fingerprint reader, anti-theft technologies, and self encrypting hard drives.

The device relies on Intel HD graphics and is rather extensively configurable. The battery life is decent, around 12 hours on a 9-cell battery. It’s equipped with new processor 32nm Core i7-640LM dual-core CPU clocked in at 2.13GHz, and has Windows 7 Professional operating system. It has spill-resistant keyboards, hard-drive protection and durable top and bottom covers.

It weighs around 1kg with the regular 4-cell battery. The screen is capacitive touch and has a special pen for the input feeding. The optional super bright outdoor panel is well suited for indoor and outdoor viewability, even in direct sunlight. It’s available in overseas stores and is likely to be launched in India somewhere in April 2010.
